There’s a moment in almost every calling where the question becomes unavoidable:
“Am I actually going to say yes?”
For Cam and Christa Moore, that moment didn’t come with clarity about the future—it came with risk.
After paying off their debts and sensing God calling them out, they found themselves with no home, no savings, and no destination.
And yet—they said yes.
Today, they’re planting a church in Nanaimo, BC—a city where over 60% of people claim no religious affiliation.
No team.
No guaranteed outcomes.
No shortcuts.
So what do you do when you start with nothing?
You:
Walk your neighborhood and pray
Start conversations with strangers
Invite people into your home
Show up consistently in everyday places
Their strategy isn’t flashy—it’s faithful.
One of the most powerful things Cam said was this:
“If you’re faithful to start a conversation with a stranger, God is almost always faithful to lead that conversation somewhere meaningful.”
And that’s exactly what’s happening.
A neighbor becomes a church member.
A conversation at swimming lessons turns into connection months later.
A simple act of hospitality opens doors for the gospel.
Nothing extraordinary—until you realize it is.
Because obedience rarely looks big in the moment.
It looks like:
knocking on a window to introduce yourself
bringing cookies next door
reading in your child’s classroom
choosing discomfort over convenience
And yet, God builds something eternal through it.
So here’s the question for us:
Where might God be inviting you to simple obedience today?
You don’t need a platform.
You don’t need a plan.
You just need a yes.
